Dos And Don’ts When Claiming Your Blog on Bloglovin’

12 January 2019

Claiming our Wemla blog on Bloglovin’ turned out to be a bit more work than expected with some mistakes thrown in, so here are a few tips for what to avoid versus what worked after several attempts.

1. Read The Bloglovin’ Instructions

It is incredibly tempting to jump right in without reading the instructions, but since claiming your blog on Bloglovin’ is a bit technical and involves coding, we highly recommend spending a short moment preparing.

2. Paste The HTML Code In The Correct Spot

If you manage to screw things up and add the code somewhere else than in the beginning of your blog post, count on it not working. We tried jazzing things up by typing stuff of our own first, so don’t do that.

3. New Blog Post

Start afresh with an entirely new blog post. Don’t simply edit the headline. But also edit the headline.

4. New Post URL

Change the URL. We left the old URL in place but Bloglovin’ will not pull the same URL into the reader.

5. Remove Image

Combining a newly created image with not taking all the above steps caused no new blog post to appear on Bloglovin’. Using an image in the first place with the altered step mentioned above might not create the desirable result, so while you are at it, remove the image entirely.

6. Claim The Blog

Don’t forget the last step! Go to your Bloglovin’ profile and click “Claim this Blog” or whatever the button happens to say.

Do you use Bloglovin’ yet? And have you claimed a blog? Please leave questions in the comments if you have some!
