You know the tactics, you have all the ideas, and you may even have some experience. You can find another podcast, course, book or expert telling you what you should be doing. And yet, somehow, you still can’t hear your own thoughts. That is when mentoring for entrepreneurs could be particularly useful. This blog post continues the conversation started in Entrepreneur Mentoring: From Overwhelm To Clear, Confident Action.

Why Offer Mentoring For Entrepreneurs?
There is something I have noticed again and again about running a business: sometimes the problem isn’t that you don’t know enough.
There are too many ideas, too many decisions, and too many things that could be important. Too many voices telling you what successful entrepreneurs are supposed to do next.
I created my entrepreneur mentoring service for us, because I wanted to offer something different from that.
What If The Answer Isn’t Another Tactic?
Entrepreneurs are often encouraged to keep moving. Set the goal, make the plan, and increase your productivity. Create the content, launch the offer, scale the business, and for the lobe of everything that is good, don’t forget to optimise the funnel.
There is nothing inherently wrong with any of those things. But sometimes moving faster isn’t what we need. Sometimes we need to stop to step back far enough so we can see the bigger picture.
To ask ourselves questions that are harder to answer when we are busy:
- What am I actually trying to create?
- Why does this matter to me?
- Is the way I’m running my business still working for me?
- What am I avoiding?
- Which of these ideas genuinely matters, and which one is simply another distraction?
- And perhaps most importantly: What do I want?
The Value Of Having Space To Think
One of the things I value most about mentoring is the space it creates. When you are inside your own business every day, it can be surprisingly difficult to see it clearly. You are simply too close to it. You are carrying all the context, all the unfinished thoughts, and all the decisions in your head.
A conversation with someone outside that internal noise can change things, and not because the other person has all the answers, but because a good conversation can help you hear yourself more clearly.
That is what I want my mentoring to provide: a place where you can bring the messy version of what is going on. For example the unfinished idea, the decision you keep postponing, the thing that looks fine on paper but doesn’t feel right, or the feeling that something needs to change, even though you can’t yet explain what, they all, belong in a mentoring conversation by an entrepreneur for an entrepreneur.
We slow it down, look at it from different angles, and work towards clarity.
I Don’t Believe In A Universal Formula
One reason I don’t offer a fixed “five-step proven process” is quite simple: your business isn’t the same as somebody else’s. Your circumstances, goals, and values are all different. Een your resources, responsibilities, and definition of success are different.
So instead of starting with a framework and trying to fit you into it, I prefer to start with you with questions like:
- What is happening right now?
- What matters?
- What is getting in the way?
- What would a meaningful way forward look like?
From there, we can work towards practical next steps.
Progress Without Losing Yourself
For me, sustainable entrepreneurship isn’t only about business growth. It is also about how you experience the process of building the business. Can you make decisions without endlessly second-guessing yourself, and create momentum without constantly feeling behind?
Can your business evolve without requiring you to abandon the things that matter to you? Or how about working towards your goals without turning yourself into a productivity machine?
This type of thinking is part of why I created this service. I don’t want mentoring to become another thing you have to “keep up with”. Instead, I want it to give you space to think, clarity about what matters, and enough confidence to take the next step.
Sometimes One Conversation Is Enough And Sometimes It Takes Longer
There are two ways for us to work together. The Mentoring Clarity Session is a 90-minute focused session for something that needs attention now, whereas the Mentoring Breakthrough Journey consists of five sessions, giving us more space to explore, implement, reflect and adjust over time.
You can start with one session and come back later for more. You can leave a longer gap between periods of mentoring, because there is no need to rush.
Sometimes the most valuable thing we can do for our businesses and ourselves is to create enough space to finally hear what we already know. And then do something with it.
A Final Thought
My mentoring for entrepreneurs will never be about pushing my own agenda on someone else. I have a hard time when self-proclaimed experts in business insinuate there is only one way—theirs—to move forward with a particular thing. (Yes, those are em dashes and I still use them despite the machines having stolen them a bit, just like the word quiet of all words got kidnapped.)
Your firm is uniquely yours and the thoughts you get from a mentor should be equally tailored to your situation. Anything less is both lazy and lukewarm in my opinion.
